Dear Jacquita, When Teri and I met Garrison many years ago, our first observation was that he had the appearance, vocabulary, and general persona of the proverbial "Gentleman and a Scholar." The longer we knew him, the more that proved to be true. Whether it was buying antiques in New York, a hand-carved authentic totem pole in Hamilton, Mt., or storing a vintage Jaguar on the West Plains of Spokane, Garrison exhibited, in the words of his obituary, "grace, style, and humor." In my mind he was "Garrison-Guidance-and Garrulity." After I heard that he had started his "solo journey across the bay and beyond the horizon," I went out to our barn where his totem pole is stored and just sat with it as I contemplated the story he told me about its symbolism and how he had chosen the characters to represent his family. It was also a good time to reminisce about the times we met in person and how he lived up to my sobriquets of him. We will miss the experience of his presence, but we will always be better for having known him and his contribution to the fabric of our lives. You are in our hearts and on our minds during this time, and our hope is that fond memories will sustain you as your grieve his loss. Love, Paddy & Teri Inman
